Visit from CEO of Good Governance Africa – 26th November

The African Studies Library were incredibly honoured to welcome Dr Alain Tschudin, a Cambridge alumnus and now CEO of Good Governance Africa here last Thursday morning.  Alain escaped the heatwave in Cape Town to visit us,  SOAS , and the African Studies Centre at Oxford.

GGA have kindly donated a copy of their publication Africa Survey 2015-16 (Africa in Figures) and will continue to provide us with a year’s worth of their print journal Africa in Fact starting with their December/January issue which has its focus on justice.

The Africa Survey includes over 800 pages of figures, infographics, and indicators on the entire continent, arranged in the following themed chapters:

  • Demographics
  • Economy
  • Trade & Investment
  • Business
  • Employment & Incomes
  • Politics & Governance
  • Infrastructure
  • Health
  • Education
  • Sex & Gender
  • Crime & Security
  • Environment

We are currently making the items “shelf-ready”, but please come and ask us in the library office if you would like to consult them in the meantime.

Please get in touch with us here at the library if you have any further questions on the resources (or Good Governance Africa in general) as Alain can also provide the original data electronically.
